Ski Holiday in Heavenly Ski Resort

Many skiers and snowboarders choose Heavenly for their next ultimate skiing holiday because the resort has some of the most astonishing views of Lake Tahoe and Sierra Nevadas. Ski Information for Heavenly

When it comes to skiing in the U.S., Heavenly is one amazing ski resort that comes up on the list of every skier and snowboarder. Spread across the California-Nevada border and standing 10,000 ft. tall, Heavenly ski resort is the largest ski mountain located near Lake Tahoe.

There are three entry points to get to the resort, two in California and one in Nevada. The California Lodge is serviced by the aerial tram and chairlift while the Heavenly Village is where the main gondola is situated. The Stagecoach Lift services guests who chose to access the resort from Nevada.

Heavenly has a large, efficient and high-speed lift system that lets skiers and snowboarders reach their destination anywhere from these three access points. Numerous resorts and hotels await skiers and families at Heavenly’s base areas and shuttles are readily available to take visitors around the resort.

Skiable Terrain at Heavenly

Heavenly ski resort receives abundant snow averaging over 360 inches each year. It has the largest artificial snowmaking system on the West Coast that covers most of the runs at the resort.

Heavenly Mountain resort boasts its modern and efficient lift system composed of fast chairlifts and 4 magic carpets for beginners. The high-speed Heavenly Gondola is the best way to reach mid-mountain. The entire journey takes under 12 minutes and skiers get some of the best slopes to ski on.

The resort’s skiing terrain is located between the elevations of 2,001 m and 3,060 m and has something for every skill level of skiers and snowboarders. With a massive 4, 800 acres of skiable terrain, skiers and snowboarders can enjoy the resort’s wide and well- groomed pistes, steep thigh-burning trails, extensive powder bowls, cruising mogul fields, tree-skiing areas, and five outstanding terrain parks.

Heavenly Skiable Terrain for Beginners

The skiing area for beginners is secluded from the rest of the resort, giving beginners plenty of area to practice and improve their skiing skills. The beginner area is located on top of the Heavenly gondola offering the best views of the gorgeous Lake Tahoe, the entire resort and the peaks nearby.

There are learning areas that are conveniently serviced by magic carpets at the California Lodge and the Boulder Lodge base areas. The Perfect Ride and the Enchanted Forest are marked green for their simple and easy nursery slopes. For more challenging trails, The Waterfall, the Powderbowl lift area, the Mombo Meadows and Maggie’s Trails are also popular routes for beginners.

Heavenly Skiable Terrain for Intermediate Skiers

With 45% of its extensive terrain marked red, Heavenly ski resort is famous for attracting intermediate skiers worldwide. The blue marked intermediate slopes are well-groomed and offer a large variety of skiing options including some expansive slopes with some tree turns and moguls.

The corduroy and high-speed cruises are the best part of skiing in Heavenly. Skiers can start the day off by taking the Heavenly gondola from the village and take the long and gentle Von Schmidt slope. Olympic Downhill located nearby is the longest ski trail in the resort covering nearly 2000 vertical feet and measuring 5. 5 miles in total.

Some long scenic and challenging blue slopes are located near the Big Dipper and Sand Dunes area that leads all the way down to Stagecoach Lodge and Boulder Lodge. For more magical views of Lake Tahoe, take the Sky Express quad to get to the resort’s summit and gain access to the well-groomed and wide-open slopes of Ridge Run, The Canyon, and Yahoo.

Heavenly Skiable Area for Experts

The expert terrains at Heavenly ski resort can mostly be found on the Nevada side of the resort. Experts will surely enjoy numerous double-black diamonds, some of North America’s best tree-skiing, and extreme back-country and off-piste skiing areas at the resort.

The black diamond trails like Face and the Gunbarrel are mogul lover’s favorite with over 500 meters of relentless huge and challenging bumps. The Mott and the Killebrew Canyon have the highest chutes at the resort and have off-piste trails marked as black double diamonds including the narrow Snakepit chute with a 38-degree pitch.

A 10-minute hike from the Sky Express lift to the Milky Way Bowl is worth it as it has the freshest and best powder in the resort. This skiing area is considered off-piste and offers a large steep treeless bowl and several narrow chutes. For gladed trails, skiers can head to the ridgeline and ski through several deep forest trails like the glorious Pinnacles and Ski Ways Glades.

Unbuckle Party

Experience the rowdiest Unbuckle party at the Heavenly resort’s Tamarack Lodge, situated mid-mountain at 9,150 feet every Saturday and Friday from 3:300 -5:30 pm. The highest après-ski party in Lake Tahoe features the famous ‘Heavenly Angel Dancers’, resident DJ performances, wild music and games and affordable food and drinks.

Hard Rock Casino

With over 25,000 square foot floor filled with hundreds of slot machines, table games, restaurants and bars, and 500 contemporary rooms, Hard Rock casino is Heavenly ski resort’s crown jewel. The resort is just a 7-minute walk from the mountain gondola and provides unmatched fine dining and beverages.

It also offers an outdoor pool, hot tubs and a fitness center. Vinyl, the casino’s live entertainment arena, is an intimate showroom that provides a wide variety of entertainment, from the most hilarious comedy shows to lively band performances.

Harrah’s Lake Tahoe

Harveys Lake Tahoe
